Friends, family, and colleagues honored Lisa Lopez-Galvan, the mother of two and Kansas City DJ, who was killed last week in the mass shooting at the end of the Chiefs Super Bowl rally, at her program "A Taste of Tejano" on KKFI 90.1FM.
The station says the program had the most listeners it's ever had.
Dozens of guests have called in to describe her smile, joy and community-oriented actions.
Some radio guests have been calling from Texas.
Lopez-Galvan's co-host on "A Taste of Tejano," Tommy Andrade, said Lisa was like his little sister.
He told KMBC it's been hard to fathom her passing.
"It's been unreal — probably tonight when it will hit me that she’s not gonna be here with me. I’ve been together with her every Tuesday for almost the last three years. This will be the first time one of us hasn’t been sick or busy with something else where’s she’s not gonna be here with me, but I truly believe she’ll be here with me in spirit," said Andrade.
The tributes for Lopez-Galvan keep coming as the Kansas City Hispanic News says their issue later this week will be dedicated to Lopez-Galvan and her family.
