Prosecutors allege Clancy intentionally killed her three children—5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan—in their Massachusetts home in January 2023. Clancy is pleading not guilty to multiple murder charges. Her defense is expected to argue that she was suffering from severe mental illness and lacked criminal responsibility at the time of the killings, while prosecutors contend she was criminally responsible for her actions.
The case has drawn national attention because of the heartbreaking circumstances, the expected testimony surrounding Clancy's mental health, and the legal questions at the center of the defense. Jurors are expected to hear from medical experts, investigators, family members and other witnesses as both sides present their cases.
