Chiefs rookie running back Emmett Johnson showed off his physical running style Saturday during Kansas City's preseason opener against the Los Angeles Rams.

"Running between the tackles is something I've been doing my whole life, and refusing to go down," Johnson said. "This game is not a soft game. You got to be able to be physical and use my size and my mentality to my advantage."

Johnson had several physical runs and appeared to score a touchdown in the second quarter, but the play was wiped out by a holding penalty.

He said he was starting to find a rhythm around that point.

"I feel like I was starting to get a little feel for the game and get in the flow state," Johnson said.
