Rain chances return Friday evening heading into the overnight hours.

Some storms are popping up around the Kansas City metro Friday. These storms triggered a severe thunderstorm warning for several communities in the area.

If you have plans Friday night, bring an umbrella and prepare for rain.

Spotty showers could linger through Saturday morning. Rain chances drop off past sunrise, and sunshine should return for the rest of the afternoon.

Then, showers will again be possible Sunday evening. Most of the day will be mostly sunny, but late that night, rain chances return and linger through Monday morning.

Highs should remain in the mid-80s for the next week.
