Movers continue to pack up Leavenworth warehouse under scrutiny amid moving fraud investigation
KMBC 9 Investigates is continuing to follow a Leavenworth warehouse connected to customers who say they were charged thousands of dollars more than expected on moving day , and in some cases, never got their belongings back.
The facility is rented by Eli Hasut through Logistic Moving Services.
When KMBC 9 Investigates approached Hasut last week, he did not answer questions about what was happening to the belongings stored inside.
The items have been connected to customers of Howards Van Lines and a nationwide moving fraud investigation.
Several customers said GPS trackers placed with their belongings led them to the Leavenworth warehouse.
Some said they have been separated from their possessions for months but have been unable to retrieve them because of ongoing legal action.
They are now asking police for help.
The warehouse’s landlords filed an eviction notice, a process that could have helped reconnect customers with their belongings.
Hasut requested a judge to provide additional time to clear the facility.
The judge granted the extension, creating a window for the items to be removed.
KMBC 9 Investigates is working to determine where they are being taken.
