Miley Cyrus remembers 'sacred moments' with 'Aunt Dolly' in tribute to her godmother
Miley Cyrus shared a tribute to her godmother, Dolly Parton, on social media Wednesday.
“The feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share,” the singer wrote.
“Our most sacred moments were private and they’ll stay there behind the stage, beneath the glamour & between our hearts.”
Cyrus said one of the last conversations she had with Parton was about “music and metamorphosis.”
“We will see her in all of the most beautiful things,” Cyrus wrote.
Parton, who was also a longtime collaborator and mentor to the younger singer, died on Tuesday after a “brief battle with cancer,” her representative said.

Cyrus’ father, Billy Ray Cyrus, shared reflections on Parton’s role in his life on social media, saying he grew up loving her.
“Dolly recently sent me a beautiful message, telling me she loved me with her whole heart. I will always love her in the same way ….. with my whole heart … and I always will,” he wrote.
