Chiefs roster hopefuls get one last chance to impress Andy Reid, coaching staff
KANSAS CITY, Mo. —

The Chiefs will host the Seattle Seahawks at Arrowhead Stadium in their preseason finale.

The game represents a final audition for players competing to earn spots on Kansas City’s 53-man roster.

While several players have performed well throughout training camp and the preseason, their work against Seattle could influence the Chiefs’ final roster decisions.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid said he wants to see players continue to improve while maintaining the right mindset.

“We just want to see continual progress going forward and have that positive attitude doing it,” Reid said. “Sometimes you get down on yourself, and then you go the other way. We don’t want that. That’s not where we’re at with it. How do you handle all that?”

Kansas City and the NFL’s other teams must reduce their rosters to 53 players before the regular season.

Players who do not make the Chiefs’ roster could still attract interest from another team based on their preseason performances.

Friday’s game gives those players one more chance to put strong performances on tape and demonstrate that they can contribute in the NFL.
