CARROLL COUNTY, Mo. —

The Missouri State Highway Patrol has been called in to investigate a double homicide in Carroll County, Missouri — the second double homicide this month. Now, a Braymer man is charged with killing two people, including his own brother.

According to a release from MSHP, Carroll County 911 received a call regarding a possible shooting inside a home in the 1100 block of Route D around 5:47 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities arrived at the home around 6:24 p.m. and found two people dead inside the home.

Troopers said a person of interest was taken into custody and there is no known danger to the community at this time.

Friday afternoon troopers identified the victims as 43-year-old Jason H. Kelly and 36-year-old Steven E. Stoll of Braymer, Missouri.

The suspect, 37-year-old Kegan K. Kelly, also of Braymer, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with this case.

Probable cause documents say the suspect is the brother of one of the victims, and that the suspect had previously made threats against the victim.

This incident comes on the heels of another double homicide on August 23. In that incident, Bobbie Munson, 46, and Donald Horine, 49, were found dead inside a home near Route MM and County Road 250.

The suspect in that case, 48-year-old Ryan Munson, was found dead inside an RV in Decatur, Illinois, on Wednesday.

Officials with MSHP said investigators are working to learn more about the incident on Route D. Anyone with information that may help investigators is encouraged to contact Troop A Headquarters at 816-622-0800.
